A lovely Victorian inspired bee brooch encrusted with glistening pave set Old Mine cut and brilliant cut Diamonds across the body and wings (approx. 1ct total) with red Ruby eyes and a large Pearl crowned in the centre.

Insect jewellery became popular at the turn of the 20th Century due to a renewed love of the natural world following the vast urbanisation of the country. They were often decorated with colourful gemstones to enhance their beauty and value.

The piece is modelled in Silver and backed in 18ct yellow Gold including the pin. It’s a beautiful collector’s item and sparkles beautifully in the light.
